Build your first website

The builder asks nine questions in five stages, then provisions your site. Expect to spend about ten minutes on it.

This walks the whole builder end to end. Nothing you choose here is permanent: every part of the site can be edited afterwards, and the site can be regenerated entirely if you change direction.

Before you start

You need a verified account. Have a sentence or two ready about what the business does, and a logo or a few photos if you have them. If you do not, the builder can find stock images for you.

  1. Name your site and pick a subdomain#

Enter the business name. Sitebefy suggests a subdomain from it and checks availability as you type. The address will be your-choice.sites.sitebefy.com until you connect your own domain.

The Website step with the site name filled in and a green available marker beside the subdomain field
  2. Say what the site is for#

Pick the goals that match: selling, bookings, showing work, or simply being findable. This shapes which sections the builder includes.

The Goals step with several goal cards, two of them selected
  3. Describe the business#

Write a few sentences about what you do and who for. This is the single most important input: it is what the AI writes your content from. There is an assist button if you would rather start from a draft and edit it.

The Describe step with a filled description box and the AI assist button beneath it
  4. Add your contact details#

Address, phone and email as you want them shown publicly. Leave anything blank that you would rather not publish.

  5. Add images#

Upload your own, or search the built-in free stock library and pick from the results. Your logo goes here too.

  6. Choose a template, colours and fonts#

Pick a template, then adjust the colour palette and font pairing. The preview updates as you change them.

  7. Set the layout#

Choose the header style, the footer style and how the page behaves as it scrolls.

The Layout step with header, footer and scroll style options
  8. Fine-tune with the live preview#

The preview shows the real site. Switch between desktop and mobile widths and adjust anything that does not look right.

  9. Add the features you need#

Turn on the extras that apply: a contact form, a booking widget, a shop, analytics. Each one installs and configures the relevant WordPress plugin for you.

The Features step with a grid of feature toggles, several enabled
  10. Review and build#

Check the summary, then press Build. Provisioning takes a few minutes and the progress is shown as it happens. Leave the tab open if you can; it will finish either way.

When the build finishes#

You get a link to the live site and a separate link to its WordPress admin, along with the login details. Save those details somewhere safe: they are yours, and Sitebefy does not need them to keep the site running.

Write down the WordPress password

The admin password is shown once, when the build completes. You can reset it later from WordPress itself, but copying it now is easier.
