Connect a custom domain
Point a domain you already own at your Sitebefy site. About ten minutes of work, then a wait for DNS.
On this page
If you own a domain, you can serve your Sitebefy site from it. You keep the domain wherever you bought it; only its DNS records change.
Custom domains are available on plans that include them, so check your plan first. You need a domain you already own and access to wherever its DNS is managed, which is usually the company you bought it from.
Open the Domain tab#
Go to your site from the dashboard and open its Domain tab. Add the domain you want to use.
Copy the DNS records Sitebefy shows you#
Sitebefy gives you the exact records to create. Keep this page open: you will paste these values into your DNS provider in the next step.
Add the records at your DNS provider#
Sign in wherever your domain's DNS is managed and create each record exactly as shown. Copy and paste rather than typing: a single wrong character is the most common reason this fails.
Come back and verify#
Return to the Domain tab and start verification. Sitebefy checks whether the records have taken effect.
Wait, if it is not ready yet#
DNS changes spread across the internet gradually. It is often minutes and can be several hours. Nothing is broken while you wait, and your subdomain keeps working the whole time.
After it verifies#
Sitebefy issues an SSL certificate for the domain, so it serves over HTTPS. From that point the site answers on your own address, and the Sitebefy subdomain keeps working too.
