SSL certificates

Every Sitebefy site serves over HTTPS. You do not have to buy, install or renew anything.

The padlock in the browser means traffic between a visitor and your site is encrypted. Sitebefy handles this for you on every site, including the free subdomain.

When it is issued#

Your subdomain is covered from the moment the site is built. A custom domain gets its own certificate once verification succeeds, which is why HTTPS on a new domain can lag the DNS change by a few minutes.

Renewal#

Automatic. There is nothing to diarise and nothing that expires while you are not looking.

A warning right after connecting?

If the browser complains about the certificate in the first few minutes after a domain verifies, it is usually still being issued. Give it a little time before investigating.
